Aerospace, Space & Defence

Manufacturing Partner for Aerospace, Space & Defence

Deliveries to the aerospace, space and defence industries place high demands on quality, documentation, traceability and the control of changes and non-conformities. Voxen manufactures precision components to approved customer drawings and specifications within a certified quality management system.

We support prototype and production programmes through advanced CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, coordinate measurement and agreed quality documentation. Our capabilities can support applications within aviation, space, propulsion systems and defence-related manufacturing.

Voxen’s quality management system is certified to EN/AS9100, incorporating the requirements of ISO 9001 together with additional requirements for the aerospace, space and defence industries.

Examples of Components and Applications

Voxen’s experience includes components for propulsion, turbine, fuel and defence-related systems. The examples below illustrate component types and materials that place particular demands on machining strategy, geometry, surface finish and inspection.

Compressor Blades

Compressor blades require precise aerofoil geometry, controlled surface finish and consistency from one component to the next. The machining process must support aerodynamic performance while accounting for material strength, weight and fatigue properties.
Voxen machines relevant grades of titanium alloys, nickel-based superalloys and martensitic stainless steels to customer specifications and inspection requirements.

Fuel Injectors

Fuel injectors and related precision components require controlled geometries, fine surface finishes and high accuracy in channels and functional surfaces. Machining and inspection are tailored to requirements for flow characteristics, sealing, wear resistance and surface finish.
Relevant materials include austenitic stainless steels, cobalt-chromium alloys and nickel-based alloys such as Inconel.

Turbine Blades

Turbine blades operate in environments involving high temperatures and significant mechanical loads. Production therefore places particular demands on the machining of heat-resistant materials, complex blade geometries and the inspection of critical dimensions and surfaces.
Voxen works with relevant nickel-based superalloys and other high-temperature materials to approved customer specifications.

Space Applications

Components for space applications often require low weight, material stability, tight tolerances and documented inspection. Voxen can support development and production programmes for mechanical precision components where complex geometries and demanding materials must be translated into a stable and repeatable machining process.

Assignments may include prototypes, low-volume batches, production readiness, coordinate measurement and agreed documentation.

Ammunition-Related Components

Voxen manufactures precision-machined components for ammunition-related applications where geometry, material selection, repeatability and traceability are critical. Manufacturing may include prototypes, low-volume batches and repeat production with agreed requirements for measurement, material documentation and inspection.
Components are manufactured to approved customer drawings and specifications and may form part of mechanical subsystems and other defence-related applications.
Voxen assesses each assignment on the basis of the component’s function, material, geometry, tolerances, volume and documentation requirements.
